1st week down!

We had an awesome 1st week back to school!  I hope you enjoyed the "1st day of school" pics from each class!
All of our classes are working hard.
My 8th grade boys and I are anxiously waiting for the final touches to be made to our new computer lab so that we can get going in Computer Applications.  Both of our new computer labs are going to be super nice and will be a wonderful addition to our school.
Freshmen are having fun learning all about the Renaissance.......
Juniors are learning about post-Civil War America and reading literature from that time period.....
Seniors are working hard on their "real-world" portfolios.  They are putting together a cover letter, resume, college scholarship essay, mock interview questions, and researching college scholarship opportunities.  This is an ongoing project that we will continue to develop over the course of the year, but my hopes is that it will greatly prepare them for the next step in their lives, whether that be college or the work place.  We are also in the early stages of beginning work on our Senior Play.  This year's play will take place sometime in December, instead of May.  We hope this will work well for our school and community.

School Supplies

All students need a notebook or binder with loose leaf paper (whichever the student prefers) to be used only for my class.  English students also need a composition notebook that will be left in the classroom.  Students may use pencils or pens (blue or black ink only).

Please see individual class handout for further details.

Welcome to 2014-15 School Year!

The purpose of this blog is to keep students and parents informed of what is happening in my 9th grade history, 11th grade history and English, and Senior English and Government classes.  Since I am the senior sponsor, I will also keep parents and students updated on important senior events and happenings.  I will also post news related to Key Club, as well.

Please make sure to "follow by email" on this page.  By submitting your email address, you will emailed when any news posts are made to the page.

I hope you find this page to be informative and helpful.  I am open to any suggestions to make this blog helpful and useful to you.

I am looking forward to a WONDERFUL school year!
