Report Cards

Report Cards go home with students today.  Please check your child's report card and send it back to school signed.  I give the students bonus points on their next test in my class if I know someone has seen their progress. :)

Important Announcements

Seniors and Parents:
Remember that October 10 is the deadline for 1/2 money due if you want a page for your child in the yearbook.  Please see Ms. Lisa Davis.

Senior Supplies:
A representative from Campus Recognition will be at our school at 9:00 on Friday, October 10 to pass out information packets for ordering senior supplies (invitations, cap and gown, thank you cards, clothing, etc.).  Please look over these with your student. The only thing your student is required to buy is his/her cap and gown and diploma cover at a cost of $50.

The rep will be back at our school on Wednesday, October 22 at 9:00 to place orders.  $50 deposit is due at the time of order.  Please keep in mind that you will have to pay the balance of your order by the end of March when the supplies come in.  If you have any questions, please contact Kara Tittle at 893-5471 or ktittle@winstonk12.org

Remember that the 1st 9 weeks grading period ends on October 9.  Report cards will go home with students on October 16.

Attention Senior Parents!

The deadline to reserve a senior page in the yearbook is Friday, October 10.  Full page is $125, half page is $75.  At least half of the balance is due by the 10th to reserve.  No pages will be reserved without payment.  Pictures are not due at this time, but will be accepted anytime.  Everything must be in digital format.  Your seniors received a handout on Monday of this week, outlining all the particulars of the page.  If you have any questions, please get with Lisa Davis.

1st week down!

We had an awesome 1st week back to school!  I hope you enjoyed the "1st day of school" pics from each class!
All of our classes are working hard.
My 8th grade boys and I are anxiously waiting for the final touches to be made to our new computer lab so that we can get going in Computer Applications.  Both of our new computer labs are going to be super nice and will be a wonderful addition to our school.
Freshmen are having fun learning all about the Renaissance.......
Juniors are learning about post-Civil War America and reading literature from that time period.....
Seniors are working hard on their "real-world" portfolios.  They are putting together a cover letter, resume, college scholarship essay, mock interview questions, and researching college scholarship opportunities.  This is an ongoing project that we will continue to develop over the course of the year, but my hopes is that it will greatly prepare them for the next step in their lives, whether that be college or the work place.  We are also in the early stages of beginning work on our Senior Play.  This year's play will take place sometime in December, instead of May.  We hope this will work well for our school and community.

Go Bears!
